Macarena Castells is a Senior Associate in the Legal Residency Department at Andersen in Uruguay. Her main responsibility is to articulate, organize and oversee the work of a dedicated five member team.

Macarena is the first point of contact with overseas clients requiring legal residency services. She is also responsible for the coordination of banking and other relocation services offered by the firm. She works together with the firm's Partners and team of lawyers and tax advisers to ensure they are assisted in every aspect of working, living and investing in Uruguay.

The firm’s dedicated immigration practice handles dozens of permanent and temporary resident permits every year on behalf of corporate and individual applicants moving to Uruguay.

Macarena and her team are trusted with corporate relocation services by leading global relocation companies.

Before joining Andersen in Uruguay, Macarena worked for the Organization of American States (OAS) in Washington, D.C. She also worked for the Uruguay Mineral Exploration Co. This experience gave her expertise in dealing with an international environment and foreign staff.

She is a regular speaker at international conferences on legal residency.
